Gas heating for housing companies

Gas heating for housing companies

Auris Energy sells natural gas and biogas for heating housing companies’ buildings. It provides a reliable and safe supply because it is delivered directly to your property by pipeline.

It is worth considering a gas network connection before construction or as part of a renovation. Switching to shared gas metering makes gas even more affordable for your housing company.

Why choose gas for a housing company?

Gas is an excellent choice for housing companies because it is:

Reliable

Gas comes directly to your property by pipeline. Our distribution network is not vulnerable to storm-related power cuts or supply interruptions caused by transport disruption.

Safe

Gas is a safe choice because it comes directly to your property by pipeline. There is no need to store it, so LPG cylinders become a thing of the past.

Clean

Burning natural gas produces very few local emissions. It produces fewer fine particles and sulphur and nitrogen emissions than oil or wood, and does not create soot or require regular chimney sweeping in the same way.

Biogas as an alternative to natural gas

Your housing company can replace natural gas with biogas. Biogas is produced in Finland from biodegradable household and industrial waste.

Connect your housing company to the gas distribution network

You can start using natural gas or biogas by connecting your property to the local gas distribution network. Shared metering allows you to distribute costs more efficiently between all households using gas.

With shared metering, the housing company measures consumption centrally and pays a single gas bill, making gas more affordable for each user.

Getting started with shared metering is easy:

1

The housing company’s decision

The housing company decides to introduce shared metering. You can propose the change to your housing company’s board.

2

Notify Auris Energy

The chair of the board or property manager can notify Auris Energy of the decision to introduce shared metering by calling 020 690 027 or emailing asiakaspalvelu@aurisenergia.fi.

3

Meter installation

When you switch to shared metering, we install a gas meter and remote reading device in the property’s basement, close to the gas connection. Billing is based on their readings.

4

Ending individual flat contracts

Auris Energy centrally terminates the individual gas contracts for flats in the property. The gas contract is then held in the housing company’s name.

5

Billing for gas consumption

Gas consumption is measured through shared metering. The housing company receives one bill covering gas distribution and gas sales. The bill includes a fixed charge per flat and a charge for gas consumption, which the property manager divides between all households using gas.

6

Switching to biogas

Your housing company can switch from natural gas to biogas, which can be even cheaper than natural gas with shared metering. Biogas requires a remotely read meter that allows hourly monitoring of gas consumption.
