Auris Energy has acquired a 72% majority stake in Mäntsälän Biovoima Oy. Mäntsälän Biovoima is a joint venture of Watrec Oy and Nivos Energia Oy producing biogas from food industry and retail side streams.
The company’s anaerobic digestion-based biogas plant is located along Helsingintie in Mäntsälä. Nivos Energia and Watrec will remain minority owners.
The acquisition supports Auris Energy’s strategy and Mäntsälän Biovoima’s expansion objectives
Biogas demand has grown continuously in recent years: as a carbon-neutral fuel, it is an important part of the solution for the green transition.
The completed acquisition advances Auris Energy’s objective of increasing renewable gases’ share of its business and helping customers move towards carbon neutrality. For Mäntsälän Biovoima, the new ownership structure enables planned expansion investments to increase biogas production capacity.
The acquisition has no immediate impact on Mäntsälän Biovoima’s customers or partners. Gas production and sales in Mäntsälä continue as normal.
