On 15 August 2022, Anni Sarvaranta will take up the role of Director responsible for gas distribution and sales at the Suomen Kaasuenergia Group, joining the Group’s management team and becoming Deputy CEO. Sarvaranta will lead all the Group’s gas-focused businesses and develop them to meet the requirements of the future zero-emission energy system.
Suomen Kaasuenergia is Finland’s largest retailer of natural gas and biogas. The Group owns Finland’s largest gas distribution network, totalling approximately 900 kilometres across 17 municipalities.
“We intend to significantly increase the share of clean gases, such as biogas and, in the future, synthetic methane, in the gas we supply” , CEO Mika Paloranta says.
“As gas becomes low-carbon, it has a major role to play in transporting and storing renewable energy in Europe, including the Nordic countries”, Anni Sarvaranta says. “My new role is a great opportunity to help develop this future from a key position in Finland.”
Sarvaranta joins Suomen Kaasuenergia from the management team of transmission system operator Gasgrid Finland Oy, where she served as Director of Transmission Business Operations and Commercial Activities. She was also responsible for renewing the company’s strategy and launching its research and development activities.
Her previous roles include Development Director at Baltic Connector Oy and Development and Strategy Manager at Helen Oy. Anni holds a Master’s degree in energy technology.
