The Lappeenrannan Energia Group’s gas distribution and gas sales businesses were transferred to Suomen Kaasuenergia in a transaction completed on 1 July 2022. Auris Kaasunjakelu Oy, part of the Suomen Kaasuenergia Group, acquired Lappeenrannan Energia’s gas distribution business, while Suomen Kaasuenergia Oy acquired its natural gas sales business.
The Suomen Kaasuenergia Group is Finland’s largest gas distribution and retail company. Following the transaction, it owns approximately 1,100 kilometres of gas distribution network and serves around 25,000 gas customers.
Customer service and billing will transfer to Suomen Kaasuenergia on 1 September 2022
The transaction has no immediate impact on Lappeenrannan Energia’s gas customers. Suomen Kaasuenergia is responsible for gas deliveries and related obligations in accordance with customers’ existing contracts.
Lappeenrannan Energia will provide customer service and billing for the gas customers transferring to Suomen Kaasuenergia until 1 September 2022. These services will then transfer automatically to the new owner of the business, without customers needing to take any action. Suomen Kaasuenergia will notify customers separately before the service provider changes.
Unlike customer service and billing, gas sales to Lappeenrannan Energia’s gas customers transfer to Suomen Kaasuenergia immediately as part of the transaction. All enquiries about selling and purchasing gas can therefore be directed to myynti@aurisenergia.fi.
