A housing company in Nummela wanted to reduce heating costs. Its terraced houses used a water-based heating system powered by electricity.

Auris Energiaratkaisut upgraded the customer’s heating system, combining an air-to-water heat pump with gas in a WarmaEko hybrid solution.

“We invested in and installed the new system as a turnkey delivery,” Sales Manager Timo Jokila explains.

At the same time, AER took responsibility for heating operation and round-the-clock equipment monitoring, servicing and maintenance.

The heat pump supplies most of the heating

AER sells heat to the customer and takes care of everything involved in producing it as a comprehensive service.

The customer receives an agreed amount of energy at an agreed price, with lower emissions and costs and improved energy efficiency.

“When the current contract ends, ownership of the heating system will transfer to the housing company, and AER can continue as the site’s heat producer,” Jokila notes.

The housing company is now heated by an air-to-water heat pump, supported by two gas condensing boilers for peak demand.

“This also minimises the site’s electricity capacity charges.”
