It is time to introduce the Suomen Kaasuenergia Group’s summer employees. Maria Liski is working with us for the first summer, while we are delighted to welcome Jonni Päivinen back for his third. Both work in gas distribution as network supervisors. Let’s get to know them!
What are you studying?
Maria: Energy and environmental technology at Metropolia.
Jonni: Energy technology at Xamk.
What made you apply to work with us?
Maria: The varied role, with a good combination of office work and work out on site. I previously worked at a gas-fired power plant, so this was a natural next step.
Jonni: This is already my third summer at AKJ. The work and atmosphere are so good that it is nice to come back.
What does a network supervisor do?
Maria: I have spent a lot of time on sites carrying out preliminary surveys for renovation work, locating gas pipelines and advising people on how to work near natural gas pipes.
Jonni: I have mainly worked on maintenance and annual inspections for industrial customers and large housing companies. This summer I have also covered for the Lohja network supervisor during their holiday.
How has it been?
Maria: I have really enjoyed it! There is a great team here, and I get to do lots of different things.
Jonni: It has gone well, which is why I like coming back. This work is in my field, so I am gaining really useful experience.
What has been the best part?
Maria: The variety and being able to organise my own day.
Jonni: The variety of the work and getting to visit many different sites.
