A Helsinki property company’s heating system was approaching the end of its service life. The owner of the property, comprising two industrial hall and office premises, also wanted to reduce heating costs.

The site had previously been heated solely by gas boilers nearing the end of their life cycle. To meet the customer’s needs, AER added two air-to-water heat pumps and replaced the gas boilers with modern condensing boilers.

AER also took responsibility for heating system operation, round-the-clock monitoring, servicing and maintenance.

“Heating emissions fell significantly, as did heating costs,” Sales Manager Jarkko Kuningas explains.

Heat pumps supply most of the heating

The installed heat pumps have a combined capacity of 75 kW and provide around three quarters of the property’s heating needs.

The site has three condensing boilers with a combined capacity of 345 kW.

AER also introduced modern control automation, energy metering and efficiency measurement.

“Together, these ensure the heating system always operates at the highest possible efficiency and the customer does not pay for waste,” says Sales Manager Kuningas.

When AER’s contract ends, ownership of the heating system will transfer to the customer.
