HKFoods focuses on food, Auris on steam production

HKFoods Vantaa

Food production at HKFoods’ Vantaa factory needs a steady steam supply. Auris upgraded the gas-based energy system to a hybrid solution combining electricity and gas.

The service model covers energy production investment and operation. The solution supports reliability and energy efficiency improvements and enables electricity demand response.

An energy partner takes responsibility

Auris is responsible for energy production, operation, maintenance and investment in modernising the system. Responsibilities are defined in the service agreement, and HKFoods does not need to make its own equipment investment.

According to Jouni Pesonen, HKFoods’ Utilities Manager, large-scale steam production is not the company’s core expertise, making the service model a suitable choice. He describes the partnership as open and challenges as being resolved together.
