Our filling station switches to per-kilogram prices and makes feedback easier

From now on, biogas and natural gas prices at our Tuusula gas filling station will be displayed only per kilogram.

The payment terminal and price sign have already been updated: since last week, they have shown gas prices only in euros per kilogram. The change does not affect refuelling, payment or the level of gas prices at the station.

Previously, we also displayed per-litre prices based on a comparison of the energy content of gas and petrol. These were intended to make it easier to compare actual fuel costs for petrol and gas vehicles. However, gas at our filling station has always been sold by the kilogram, and this will continue.

Per-litre prices were removed because of a regulation on displaying comparison prices for alternative fuels that took effect on 7 December. The regulation relates to the EU Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive and permits comparison prices to be shown in €/100 km. This is a calculated cost in euros for driving 100 kilometres, based on the type-approval fuel consumption of actual, comparable vehicles and market fuel prices.

For the time being, Suomen Kaasuenergia does not intend to use this new permitted way of displaying comparison prices.

We have made it easy to give feedback

There is another new feature at the station. We have added QR codes to the dispenser so anyone can give us feedback about the station. Scanning a code with a phone opens a simple text field for feedback.

The QR code is intended for feedback that does not require an immediate response. We welcome suggestions for improvement or information about anything missing at the station, for example. Compliments are welcome too.

All feedback submitted using the code reaches our staff, and every message is read.

For urgent matters, please contact our control room on 09 5849 5570.

Wishing you a pleasant run-up to Christmas,

The Suomen Kaasuenergia refuelling team
