Valio’s Vantaa factory makes the processed cheeses the company sells in Finland, and AER supplies all the heat and steam the factory needs.
For a leading food producer, every part of production must work seamlessly, including energy production. Steam purity and boiler plant availability must be particularly high.
“Food industry companies have strict requirements for the energy used in production, and meeting them is a source of pride for us,” AER Sales Director Mika Hartikainen says.
“Steam must be pure and plant availability high. The customer’s load also changes rapidly with production needs, so operating the plant requires real expertise,” Hartikainen explains.
Highly efficient steam and heat as a turnkey service
AER produces the steam and heat Valio needs on site using two 2.5 MW steam boilers fuelled by natural gas and biogas.
As with its other industrial customers, AER supplies heat and steam to Valio on a turnkey basis, allowing the customer to focus on its own business rather than managing energy production.
AER is responsible for operating, servicing and monitoring the steam and heating boilers.
“Steam production has been optimised with the customer to achieve exceptionally high efficiency. This is another way AER is an energy-efficient partner for its industrial customers,” Hartikainen adds.
