Biogas production at Mäntsälän Biovoima, majority-owned by Auris Energy, is growing strongly. In June, the plant injected more biomethane into the gas distribution network than ever before.
“In June, we were able to test the biomethane grid injection process at full capacity, and everything is working extremely well”, says Auris’s Biogas Business Manager Jani Hautaluoma.
The process is working well, and biowaste reception has increased
The Mäntsälä plant’s biogas process is performing well and production has stabilised. Feedstock flows have also increased as Auris has signed new agreements for biowaste deliveries to the plant.
“We respond quickly to customers’ needs and also help other producers process biowaste whenever needed,” Hautaluoma says.
“Our biogas factory is in excellent shape, and we can also discuss new feedstocks and their delivery to us.”
Expansion will increase the plant’s output further
Demand for biogas continues to grow, driven in part by tighter low-carbon targets. Auris is responding by expanding its Mäntsälä production plant. The expansion will almost double the plant’s biomethane production.
“This summer’s production records showed that our biogas factory works extremely well and that we will be able to deliver the service at maximum capacity after the expansion too,” Hautaluoma says.
