We are planning a biogas plant in Säkylä with an investment of around €50 million. The plant seamlessly combines the circular economy with renewable energy production. Construction is scheduled to begin next year, with production starting in 2028.
The plant will produce 130 GWh of renewable biogas each year, replacing fossil fuels in industry and transport. It will also produce recycled fertilisers that will return to agriculture in the region.
Säkylä biogas plant project – Auris Energy
Planning progresses with experienced partners
Detailed planning of the biogas project is under way with trusted Finnish partners.
- Fimpec Engineering Oy is responsible for the technical design of the Säkylä biogas plant and the gas upgrading plant to be located in Harjavalta.
- FCG Rakennettu Ympäristö Oy is responsible for the general design of the project’s structures and infrastructure.
- Macon Oy is carrying out the environmental impact assessment (EIA), which is progressing alongside the planning work.
We have already concluded a significant proportion of the biogas feedstock agreements with industrial partners and are currently building cooperation with local agriculture. The future plant therefore already has a strong feedstock base, and the project is progressing towards construction as planned.
