Fazer has selected Auris Energy as the energy partner for its new chocolate factory being built in Lahti. Auris will provide steam, heat, cooling and compressed air production as a service. The company will design and invest in all the necessary energy production systems and take care of their operation and maintenance throughout the contract period.
A fully electrified solution
The future factory’s energy solution is based on fully electrified systems. Total annual utility production will exceed 35 gigawatt-hours.
Auris will integrate the factory’s heating and cooling processes into one energy-efficient system. In addition, steam production designed for flexibility will enable demand response that supports the electricity system.
The operating model supports sustainability, energy efficiency, operational reliability and predictable energy costs well into the future.
Continuing and expanding our cooperation
The project continues and further expands the long-standing cooperation between Auris and Fazer. Auris has been providing steam as a service to Fazer’s Vantaa factory for more than ten years.
“We will deliver all the key utilities to Fazer’s new chocolate factory in Lahti as one integrated service,” says Perttu Lahtinen, CEO of Auris Energy’s energy services business.
“Fazer can rely on the factory’s energy production operating efficiently and flexibly at every stage of production. We take care of system design, investment and maintenance so that our customers can focus on their core business,” Lahtinen says.
When selecting an energy partner, Fazer’s starting points were the sustainability of the energy solution and its reliability of supply.
