Heat your construction site with gas – safely and efficiently
Construction-site heating using natural gas or biogas is well suited to building and renovation sites within the gas distribution network area.
Versatile gas offers straightforward, safe and reliable heating. Finnish biogas is also available as a fuel for heating.
Why choose gas for a construction site?
Gas delivered by pipeline is safe and does not need to be stored, pumped or vaporised on site. Gas heating helps create optimal conditions for materials and workers, even in cold weather. Using gas on a construction site has many other benefits too.
Reliable supply
Gas provides reliable heating because it is delivered directly by pipeline.
Sufficient capacity
A gas distribution pipeline can provide enough capacity to heat even a large construction site.
Saves space
Using pipeline gas for temporary heating does not require fuel tanks.
Safe
Gas combustion is easy to control in process applications. Gas can also be combined with other energy sources and used for heating as well as industrial processes.
Heating emissions
Natural gas combustion produces carbon dioxide and local emissions, including nitrogen oxides. Emission levels depend on the heating equipment and how it is operated.
Produced in Finland
As an Auris Energy customer, you can also choose Finnish biogas as an alternative to natural gas.
Setting up construction-site heating
Gas for construction heaters can be taken from an existing gas connection if the building or renovation site has one. Alternatively, a temporary gas connection can be installed.
The cost of a gas connection is site-specific. It includes the cost of installing and removing the connection pipe, excavation and backfilling, and the rental of pressure-reducing or pressure-boosting equipment, including labour and materials.
We bill heating energy in megawatt-hours based on the measured volume of gas. Once construction is complete, the site’s gas pipework can remain in the property for uses such as heating, hybrid energy solutions or a restaurant.
